Nobel prize 2018 in Chemistry for “Directed Evolution”

The highest honour in Chemistry goes well deserved to Prof. Frances Arnold for her life’s work on Directed Evolution. Since establishing the process in the 1990s it has led to the creation of a whole new field in biotechnology, with Prof. Frances Arnold as the frontrunner of constant scientific progress. She shaped the face of enzyme technology by further developing new techniques, tackling new frontiers and co-founding two well-known companies Gevo and Provivi.

As a company dedicated to Directed Eolution of enzymes, we at SeSaM-Biotech couldn’t be happier for her and the groundwork she has laid for the use of enzymes in pharmaceutical and industrial biotechnology.
